Pedro Constantino has worked many years with indigenous peoples and traditional communities in the Amazon. With more than 15 years of experience in the implementation of international cooperation, he currently coordinate the technical cooperation program of the US Forest Service in Brazil on the themes of sociobiodiversity and product value chains, ecological restoration, management of Indigenous Lands and Conservation Units and combating environmental crimes in the Amazon. During this period he has collaborated with several Brazilian government agencies, federal and state, with mandages related to the environmental agenda. He has supervised projects with several NGOs and indigenous and community-based organizations. In addition, he has worked as a short-term consultant for government agencies and NGOs. He is part of national and global networks of applied research related to the use of natural resources by indigenous peoples and traditional communities. He has published numerous papers in renowned scientific journals.
Pedro Constantino is a biologist from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and has a master’s degree in Interdisciplinary Ecology from the University of Florida.
