Nordeco has for the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs undertaken an exploratory study on opportunities and challenges for implementing an Integrated Refugee Response Programme in the Dadaab refugee complex area in Garissa County in Kenya. The Study is to be used for decisions regarding the future of interventions in that area, and it revealed significant challenges related to the situation in the area including major cut in humanitarian aid and strong influence of clan politics on the development of the area. It also pointed at targeted opportunities for supporting government-led services for refugees and hosts within the sectors of health, education and water.
