Senior Advisor, Climate Finance, Adaptation and Resilience

With over 30 years of experience in socio-environmental development, I have spent the last 15 years working with climate change with special focus on climate finance for adaptation and resilience. Expertise in climate financing modalities, climate resilence, locally-led adaptation, nature-based solutions, and low carbon urban development.

I have extensive expertise in the international climate finance landscape, with in-depth knowledge of major funding mechanisms such as the Green Climate Fund (GCF), Climate Investment Funds (CIF), Adaptation Fund (AF), Global Environment Facility (GEF), and key private sector climate finance initiatives. Over the years, I have successfully led and managed numerous co-financed programs and projects in collaboration with international financial institutions, including the World Bank, African Development Bank (AfDB), Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and Asian Development Bank (ADB). In addition, I have served as chair and member of various high-level boards and committees.

My work also incorporates rights-based approaches and addresses key cross-cutting issues, such as gender equality, human rights, and good governance. I am well-versed in the obligations and implementation mechanisms of the UN Rio Conventions on Climate Change, Biological Diversity, and Desertification.

As a leader of interdisciplinary teams, I have extensive experience in project and portfolio management, including strategy development, planning, monitoring, evaluation, and learning. More than ten years of reviews and evaluations of project/programs funded by the World Bank, GEF, EU, IDB, UN, Danida, and numerous NGOs. My professional approach is grounded in evidence-based, practical strategies that drive sustainable development and generate meaningful social impact.
